Netflix Selects Ideal Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Mr. 2. This character can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that figure reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the initial comic and animated series.

This performer joins several other new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to life, featuring leader the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.

Even though this character is a key figure of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
