Liverpool's Star Extends Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match after making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Team Unity
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have remained strong in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
