Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
