Ex- Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors report that a former physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
